One million American children drop out of high school every year in what has been called the major civil rights issue of our time. CityYear is tackling this problem head-on in twenty one cities by placing volunteers like Aaron Canto (left) in the hardest hit schools to motivate and support students to stay in school and thrive in their learning. On February 16th, John Leonard's Manager-Temporary Division, Jennifer DeLucia, and her associates, Staffing Consultants-Temporary Division Kimberly Brown and Elyse Gonsalves, attended Community Work Services' (CWS) third annual Chili Cup in downtown Boston. This event generated an attendance of over 200 chili enthusiasts from the community, many who competed to make the best chili in the city and donated to the success of CWS.
A long-standing, reputable nonprofit in the heart of Boston, CWS has been assisting men and women effectively enter the workforce and gain economic self-sufficiency for over 100 years. We thoroughly enjoyed supporting our valued client, CWS, and are thrilled to be an active contributor to this organization.

On January 27, 2012, we attended one of the largest networking events in Boston at the TD Garden. The Boston Business Journal hosted its annual Book of Lists Gala bringing together over 1,000 top executives featured in the Book to talk about the future of our local economy and recognizing industry leaders.
With an inviting atmosphere and the business vibe, we left the event with new ideas and tools to help propel our business forward with confidence…including maybe arranging our very own “flash-mob!” (Link to YouTube video)

John Leonard Recruits Workers for New England's Warrior Dash

In the week's prior to New England's Warrior Dash June 2011 in Amesbury, MA, John Leonard's Temporary Division recruited 42 volunteers to work this two-day event! With approximately 400 competitors in each heat, warriors leaped over fire, climbed military walls, and "slip-n'slided" in mud baths to the finish line.
