Our client, a trial law firm, is looking for an IP Litigation Paralegal to join their team assisting with the workload of a major industry wide patent infringement law suit, as well as other ongoing caseloads.

Primary responsibilities of the IP Paralegal include:

Our client, a developer of Microsoft Office software based west of Boston, is looking for a Junior Quality Assurance Engineer to add to their team. 

QA responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the quality of products before release to customers
  • Setting up automated systems to ensure that software meets requirements
  • Performing manual testing for usability issues
  • Participating in discussions with developers to ensure quality
  • Maintaining internal tools including Hudson, ant, and JIRA
  • Documenting and monitoring known issues

In addition to some relevant experience, a good candidate must understand the principles behind automated testing and enjoy working with software.  A passion for learning new software and a great attention to detail are essential.

1-2 years of QA experience is necessary.

Senior Accountant – 4 weeks

Our client is looking for a Temporary Senior Accountant to join their team ASAP. The assignment is located in Cambridge, MA and will last for 4 weeks.

Duties of the Senior Accountant:

  • Create journal entries
  • Create client invoices
  • Set up billing schedule
  • Participate in month-end close (following the standard set of procedures)
  • Manage contractor time and payments
  • Manage accounts receivable (billing process, track due payments, communicate with project managers to ensure payments are made on-time throughout project)
  • Coordinate check runs with Accounting Administrator
  • Collect signed contracts and keep on file in an organized, understandable format
  • Keep abreast of daily cash balances
  • Provide accurate weekly progress updates
  • Report Account Receivable data to Management

Prior experience using Deltek Vision is a MUST

  • Time entry
  • Maintaining details of client specific preferences, managing correspondence

Our client, a downtown consulting firm specializing in health and human services, is looking for a systems administrator in their IT Services group.

Responsibilities of the System Administrator/ Engineer include:

  • Managing the release of new technologies
  • Designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and performing testing of network and computer equipment
  • Developing processes for ongoing management of computer network
  • Troubleshooting IT issues
  • Researching, evaluating, and recommending hardware and software

A good candidate must have general background experience, as well as experience with storage, virtualization, and network technologies.  A strong understanding of UNIX platforms, specifically EMC, Virtualization technology, and all of Windows OS is a must.  Previous experience with troubleshooting and overseeing the physical security, integrity, and safety of a data center/farm is essential.

Duties of the Controller position include:

  • Recruiting, supervising, and developing all finance and accounting staff
  • Managing all master data to ensure the structure meets companies needs
  • Completion of month-end close
  • Preparing financial analysis, performing reports
  • Preparing and coordinating annual budget
  • Computing taxes and preparing tax returns

Linux/Unix Administrator – Boston, MA

Our client, located in Boston, is looking for a “hands on” Linux/Unix Administration professional to work within a team structure supporting both a local and two remote sites.  A successful candidate needs experience not only on the administration side of things (backups, maintenance, troubleshooting and security) but also knowledge in programming and scripting.  This team is responsible for hardware, software and helpdesk support so excellent communication skills are a must. 

 Linux/Unix Administrator Duties:

  • Program in Perl, UNIX shells, SQL, CM/ECF Event Dictionary and other languages as needed.
  • Create custom reports using proprietary scripting methods
  • Responsible for programming and system enhancements, prototype testing and system documentation
  • Systems administration, backups, maintenance, security, troubleshooting and development of Linux and Solaris servers & Informix databases
  • Assists with desktop hardware and software support, installation, and configuration as needed
  • Occasional travel to Worcester and Springfield offices and other locations is required. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience programming in Linux shell and SQL required
  • Knowledge and experience programming with Perl, Python, Ruby or C# required
  • Experience with Red Hat Linux, Sun Solaris, and Informix is preferred
  • Knowledge of relational database fundamentals
  •  “X Factor” ability to work with multiple personalities in an mid to high pressure environment 
  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Microsoft Windows XP, Lotus Notes/Domino, Word Perfect, and Adobe Acrobat preferred.
