March is Women’s History Month, a time to recognize and honor the contributions women have made to society. It is also an opportunity to reflect on the ongoing struggle for gender equality in the workplace and beyond.  Even with progress in recent years, significant gender disparities persist in the American labor force. Women continue to face barriers in the workplace - unequal pay, disparity in promotions, incidents of sexual harassment, and racism. For example, working women in the United States earn just 82 cents for every dollar earned by men, and the pay gap is even wider for women of color.

2022 Gender Pay Gap Statistics (Infographic)

Despite the progress that has been made to reduce the inequality between how much men and women are paid, there is still a significant gender pay gap. This wage gap has decreased in size but has never been closed. In fact, according to the Global Gender Gap Report 2022, it will take another 132 years to close the global gender gap. The pay gap difference still stands at 17%, which is almost $20 less for females for every $100 a male makes. Here are revealing statistics everyone should know about the global gender wage gap.
