Responsibilities

  • Director of Talent Development will devise and implement an innovative strategy, efficient processes and clear protocol for developing attorneys across all practice groups
  • Collaborate with the Associate Development Committee, Directorship Review Committee and Practice Group Associate Development Directors to define priorities and implement practices to develop, engage, retain and advance the firm’s legal talent
  • Lead the assessment, development or enhancement, and implementation of educational, coaching, mentoring, career development and feedback programming for attorneys
  • Execute on firm strategic talent initiatives and practice group needs in collaboration with initiative leaders and practice group co-chairs
  • Collaborate with Legal Talent team members and firm practice groups to efficiently onboard and integrate new attorneys
  • Collaborate with the Inclusion Advisory Committee to develop metrics and analyze data regarding diversity, recruiting, development, engagement, retention and market trends, and to drive enhanced diversity and inclusion within the firm
  • Develop relevant processes and tools to measure and report key talent development success metrics and regularly communicate the effectiveness and efficiency of the talent development function
  • Develop and manage the Talent Development budget, monthly tracking and quarterly forecasting

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s and J.D or MBA
  • 8+ years of talent development experience within a law firm
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Polished communication, interpersonal and executive functioning skills
  • Excellent analytic skills to identify trends in firm data and the legal industry and identify solutions that will maximize firm success
  • Excellent team management skills and ability to develop and motivate others
