General Ledger Accountant
Salary: $65K
3-5+ years of experience in accounting and experience focused on general ledger analysis and reporting required
A Boston quasi-public workforce development agency specializing in investing in innovative partnerships with industry, education, and workforce organizations is looking to hire an experienced General Ledger Accountant to join their finance team. Responsibilities
- General Ledger Accountant will assist in the preparation, reconciliation, and review of monthly and year-end accounting transactions including journals to the General Ledger
- Prepare account reconciliations ensuring appropriate documentation, identifying variances, reconciling balances, reclassifying entries, and updating descriptions
- Manage the accounts receivables function for the organization
- Compile, analyze, and report financial data, and ensure financial data records are complete and accurate
- Perform high level of Excel analysis, and manage and complete projects with little supervision
- Support the team with month-end close, reconciliations, accounts payable, contracting and reporting
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience in accounting
- 3-5+ years of experience focused on general ledger analysis and reporting
- Extensive experience with standard MS Office software products
- Experience in accounting for nonprofits and/or government organizations (GAAP and GASB)
- Prior experience in state, local or federal government preferred
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail and thorough follow-up when completing tasks
