Manager of Diversity and Inclusion

Salary: $125K - $150K

1-2 years of diversity and inclusion experience and 4-6 years working in a professional services firm required

A law firm is looking to hire a Manager of Diversity and Inclusion to work out of the Boston office. In this role, you will collaborate and create a strategic vision for diversity and inclusion at the firm and develop and help implement the projects designed to accomplish goals. You will also play a role in our review, hiring and other decision-making processes to help identify and interrupt any potential bias that might arise.

Responsibilities

  • Manager of Diversity and Inclusion will work collaboratively with leadership to develop and implement annual strategic plans, request and manage annual budgets, provide management updates
  • Collaborate with senior managers to ensure an inclusive and best-in-class orientation and integration experience
  • Collaborate with Practice Group Leaders and allocators to assess and ensure equal access to opportunities for challenging work
  • Provide or arrange for core diversity training programs, workshops and discussions
  • Serve as counselor, advocate and confidant for diverse attorneys
  • Build the firm’s reputation as a leader in diversity and inclusion
  • Develop and analyze metrics for measuring progress and effectiveness of the firm’s diversity and inclusion strategy
  • Assess, enhance and collaborate on the performance management process for Associates, Counsel and Professional Attorneys
  • Manage the Flexible Work Arrangement process, facilitate open communication between Flexible Work Mentors and associates
  • Stay current with the latest diversity and inclusion research and best practices
  • Collaborate with Legal Talent Team to continually evaluate and enhance firm processes and systems for greater inclusion and equity

 

Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree; JD, MBA or graduate degree in HR, Education, Counseling or Organizational Development
  • 1-2 years of diversity and inclusion work
  • 4-6 years working in a professional services firm
  • Understanding of law firm business operations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
