Public Relations Manager

6-8+ years of PR or marketing experience required; experience working for a legal rankings company or at a law firm is preferred

A top international law firm is looking to hire an experienced Public Relations Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the firm’s ongoing initiative to review a wide spectrum of rankings, surveys and directories and advise the marketing communications and practice development teams, as well as the firm leadership, on which awards, rankings, surveys and directories to focus on.

Responsibilities

  • Public Relations Manager will work across the firm with attorneys and support team members to develop an understanding for matters and topics that showcase firm accomplishments, innovative thinking and outstanding business practices
  • Lead the process of identifying rankings and awards opportunities and pairing those opportunities with firm successes and significant attorney, practice and firm accomplishments
  • Coordinate with practice development managers, practice group leaders and the firm’s rankings & awards specialists/writers to gather, approve, maintain, and update highlights for submissions
  • Update and manage a comprehensive calendar of ranking publications, directories, surveys and awards due dates and requirements
  • Identify new rankings and awards opportunities through a continual and proactive survey of the rankings landscape
  • Maintain a system for alerting attorneys and support team members to pending submission deadlines
  • Create, update and maintain tip sheets to help stakeholders create compelling submissions and build strong cases for improved rankings
  • Use the submissions to highlight the firm's practices, strengths, developments, and client accomplishments, while making sure the submissions are aligned with the business strategies of the practices—and importantly, strictly follow client preferences and ethical considerations
  • Manage the interview process for attorneys with the various directories and handling the logistics of those interviews
  • Prepare a thoughtful analyses of rankings results to help identify areas of focus and to identify ways in which rankings results and commentary can be utilized for other marketing and PR purposes
  • Advise the PR Manager and Chief of Marketing Communications on rankings, gleaned from a careful and strategic analysis of results and research feedback

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 6-8+ years of PR or marketing experience; experience working for a legal rankings company or at a law firm is preferred
  • Experience in disciplines that demand a proven capability in project management, communications strategy, organizational skills, leading initiatives
  • Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
