Revenue Director 

Salary: $110K

5+ years of solid knowledge and experience with 3rd party billing in healthcare required

Do you have a strong understanding of controls pertaining to auditing, revenue recognition, and solid general accounting skills? A Boston nonprofit is seeking a Revenue Director to oversee their revenue department and manage its staff. In this role, you will prepare thoughtful and detailed revenue analysis and reports for management.


  • Revenue Director will be responsible for oversight of all Commission 3rd party billing activities
  • Manage relationships and serve as liaison to outsourced 3rd party billing providers
  • Establish and maintain metrics that ensure process efficiency and compliance with Revenue policies
  • Oversee Commission's FEMA reimbursement process and ensure documentation is accurate and complete prior to submission
  • Responsible for managing and forecasting revenue for the Medicaid Administrative Claiming
  • Ability to work on a professional level with EOHHS and other government agencies
  • Create and maintain revenue management standards, including review and measurement of all direct service programs
  • Quarterly reporting on revenue performance against bureau established goals
  • Responsible for overall development and implementation of established third-party rates and costs associated with providing direct care services
  • Monitor group and third-party business thresholds within the current and future forecasts to ensure measurable improvements in services provided and maintain third party rate schedules
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining 3rd party billing competencies for the six bureaus and administration
  • Work with bureaus to develop program specific strategies to ensure maximum growth
  • Identify possible Revenue enhancement projects for direct service programs
  • Conduct monthly analysis of Medicare/Medicaid/Third Party Payers
  • Identify gaps and inefficiencies in revenue procedures or controls and work with CFO to correct
  • Establish and maintain metrics that ensure process efficiency and compliance with Revenue policies and mandates
  • Establish periodic (monthly, quarterly, annual) Revenue reports to be provided to, and reviewed with, the relevant Bureaus
  • Manage and supervise Billing Administrative Compliance Unit for all third-party reimbursements
  • Oversee compliance staff to ensure adherence to industry standards for billing and services provided


  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration or Healthcare administration and a minimum of 5 years of directly related not-for-profit, and/or governmental entity experience
  • Proficiency in Medicaid/Medicare, FEMA reimbursements, and medical billing software, systems, and processes
  • Knowledge of the Federal/Commonwealth of MA regulations pertaining to federal entitlement programs, federal claiming and reimbursement, and block grant programs
  • Strong skills in financial management and operational management a plus
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), teamwork skills, and organizational navigation abilities
