Salary: $127K - $161K

8+ years of marketing or business development experience in law firms or other professional services industry and 2+ years of direct personnel management experience required

A law firm located in Boston is seeking a Senior Marketing Manager who will be recognized as the leader in the Marketing Department and serves as the go-to marketing resource for the office/region. In this role, you will oversee signature programs and initiatives aimed at strengthening the profile of the firm in the market and create opportunities for the firms’ lawyers to network and build relationships with key contacts.

Responsibilities 

  • Senior Marketing Manager will leverage market awareness, research, and intelligence as well as industry best practices to recommend and facilitate innovative marketing solutions
  • Plan and manage firm-sponsored programs for clients and prospective clients; oversees all event logistics, including contract negotiation, invitations, mailing lists, handout materials, site management, speakers, visual presentations, and follow-up
  • Develop, manage and monitor office marketing budget(s) for the office/region, including evaluating the return on investment (ROI) of initiatives and initiates, collects and analyzes feedback surveys
  • Lead implementation and maintenance of the Firm’s CRM system in the office/region and leverages the system to connect lawyers, clients, and other contacts
  • Lead the development and submission of office/regional directory rankings, awards, and surveys to raise the profile of local practices, coordinating with global practice liaisons
  • Work with office/regional lawyers and global practice liaisons on the creation, editing, and maintenance of external communications and collateral materials, including lawyer biographies, advertisements, invitations, website pages, and social media content
  • Identify and support projects that promote speaking and authorship opportunities with professional and trade organizations to extend the firm’s regional or practice footprint
  • Collaborate with regional and practice development leaders, as needed, on practice-specific projects that support regional growth such as initiatives to support group/partner business plan(s) including specifying key strategic and tactical objectives and the means to achieve stated goals
  • Onboard and integrate lateral lawyer arrivals to the office/region, including face-to-face interaction with lawyers and other senior-level executives within the firm in addition to supporting/providing/coordinating the coaching of junior partners or associates in marketing and business development training
  • Hire, manage and develop office/regional marketing staff
  • Manage professional development of staff, including goal setting, coaching, and training
  • Prepare annual performance appraisals and provide timely feedback on performance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably in marketing, communication, business, or related field required
  • 8+ years of marketing or business development experience in law firms or other professional services industry and 2+ years of direct personnel management experience 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities and take initiative to lead projects
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to preserve confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Experience managing a remote team across offices/regions preferred
  • Understanding of the local/regional market for legal services and competitive landscape preferred
