T-DH Housing Search and Stabilization Specialist

A nonprofit in Boston is seeking a T-DH Housing Search and Stabilization Specialist. Apply to provide assertive outreach, engagement, enrollment, and stabilization to shelter guests. You will also produce positive housing outcomes reducing individual lengths of homelessness.


  • Housing Search and Stabilization Specialist will outreach and engage individuals in the shelters to assist them in quickly developing housing pathways
  • Uphold the minimum standards of landlord service, including quick response time to vacancies and tenancy issues
  • Perform assessments and intakes with shelter guests
  • Enroll eligible individuals into the program, collect, and maintain all required paperwork and documentation
  • Enter all required work into ETO database in a timely fashion with accuracy, documenting each interaction with program participant within 48 hours of interaction
  • Provide pro-active follow-up home visits to ensure stability and further progress towards self-sufficiency; this includes support, advocacy, reducing isolation, listening, problem-solving, and identification of resources to assist with the reintegration of participants in the community
  • Provide referral and case management services to guests, including the initial and ongoing development of individual service plans, referrals, and access to appropriate services
  • Complete housing applications, assisting individuals with the housing search process, assisting individuals with interpreting and signing tenancy agreements, and conducting inspections of units when applicable                           
  • Maintain individuals records, including database files, incident reports and daily and weekly service records and progress notes     


  • Associate’s Degree in a human services related field
  • 1 experience in Housing search and Stabilization Services
  • Experience in the following areas: delivering services to a challenged population often struggling with addiction and untreated or under-treated mental health concerns, housing Search coordinator, property management, or real estate, and providing direct care and/or active case management and referral services to homeless individuals
  • Strong Computer proficiency including familiarity with MS Word, Excel and the ability to learn and use MIS & HMIS programs (ETO)
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills
