T-DH Leave Administrator

Do you have solid leaves of absence experience and very good, detailed documentation skills with the ability to generate regular status reports? If so, apply to this T-DH Leave Administrator position at a Boston nonprofit organization. Apply to manage staff leaves of absence and provide the Director of Employee Relations with administrative support.   

Responsibilities

  • Leave Administrator will oversee Time Off/Leave of Absence request and approval process
  • Provide information and guidance on time off and leave of absence policies to employees and supervisors
  • Process employee leave of absence requests in accordance with the leave policies(FMLA, PFML, Emergency LOAs, etc.), ensuring that eligibility, medical certification, length of leave and return to work requirements are met
  • Assist supervisors in processing termination of employment when maximum leave is exceeded
  • Maintain accurate records of leaves, and produce and analyze regular reports to ensure a leave program, which is administered equitably and offers positive incentives to employees
  • Update and improved leave of absence tracking mechanisms as needed
  • Coordinate communication with payroll, employees, and supervisors to ensure employees and supervisors are aware of deadlines, obligations, and other matters impacting employees’ leave and return to work
  • Monitor use of earned time and sick time and work with program and department administrators to ensure adherence with existing policies
  • Respond to HR requests related to unemployment claims, manage UTCA portal
  • Participate in various HR programs including orientations, benefits meetings, and fairs, performance management meetings and training, to provide Director, Employee Relations with administrative support
  • Review and edit a variety of memos and documents
  • Assist with planning employee events as needed
  • Assist with performance management system report auditing and generation, as requested

Requirements

  • High School Diploma; Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or a related field preferred
  • Human Resources Professional Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred
  • 2+ years of human resources experience; or equivalent combination of skills and experience
  • Strong planning verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong ability to plan and manage timelines, deadlines, and multiple communications utilizing software (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, and similar tools) and other tracking systems
  • Strong ability to provide status reports to supervisors as well as to HR staff
  • Strong ability to learn new software tools and an aptitude for analysis of missing information
  • Demonstrated experience building relationship with staff and managers to deliver HR services 
  • Knowledge of various Federal and State laws related to leaves of absence
