JOHNLEONARD has an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and inclusive Temporary Career Coach to join a non-profit that empowers individuals from diverse communities to find employment and build careers. This full-time career coaching role is based in Boston and offers an attractive hourly rate for your dedication to hiring, developing and retaining productive workforces.
As a Career Coach, you will build, strengthen, and grow key partnerships, track and report all relevant program data and outcomes and evaluate programmatic success. You will also be responsible for developing good relationships with clients and providing high-quality career counseling and job placement assistance to job seekers recruited and referred from the organization's community partners. Bilingual/Working proficiency in English and Spanish or Haitian Creole is preferred.
In this contract Career Coach role, some of the primary duties you can expect to take on include:
- Providing high-quality 1:1 employment success coaching, including interview preparation, resume creating and tailoring resumes, personal branding and self-marketing strategies, and social media
- Actively developing, engaging, and maintaining employer relationships
- Developing systems to effectively identify, interview, screen, assess, and support clients seeking training and employment
- Assisting job seekers in goal setting, identifying barriers and mapping out a plan leading to job placement, skills upgrades and career advancement
- Effectively marketing participants to employers, soliciting appropriate job openings, scheduling interviews, soliciting feedback, and confirming placements
To apply for this Career Coach role, you will need an Associate's degree in a related area (Employment Coaching/Career Counsel, Human Resources, Social Work, or Education) or 5+ years of related experience. You will also require the following:
- 1-3 years of experience in workforce development or a related field
- Outstanding interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills
- Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills
- Demonstrated expertise in producing professional-level resumes
- Proficiency in designing/adapting and presenting workshops and group programs on career-related topics
