Temporary Chief Human Resources Officer

7+ years of management and progressive supervisory experience required

Our client, a home care provider for the elderly, is seeking a Temporary Chief Human Resources Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for determining and providing leadership in developing and executing human resources strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Chief Human Resources Officer will evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action as those items impact attraction, motivation, development, and retention of people resources
  • Translate strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce human resources policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization
  • Work with the agency’s executive management team, establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the company
  • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals
  • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefit plans that are competitive and cost-effective for the company
  • Oversee collective bargaining procedures, including working with attorney drafting, reviewing, and modifying proposals, verifying legal contract terminology, and suggesting additional rules and regulations as necessary
  • Create policies and procedures to Communicate effectively with managers, executives, and union representatives to create a positive working environment, assure the HR department addresses worker grievances and verify compliance with contractual protocols
  • Manage labor grievances as needed by investigating circumstances of the incident, validity of claims, adherence to contract policies, and completion of resolution procedures
  • Coordinate with HR and other departments to create and sustain positive employee relations and facilitate effective communications between employees and management

Requirements

  • A BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university
  • MBA, MA, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or PHR preferred
  • 7+ years of management and progressive supervisory experience
  • Comfortable working with pc’s and HR software (Paycom, Applicant PRO a plus), MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong leadership skills

  • Experience in labor relations and employee relations
