A homeless services organization located in Boston is seeing a Temporary Housing Operations Coordinator to join their team. In this role, you will provide day-to-day administrative, clerical, and program support to the organization.


  • Housing Operations Coordinator will serve as the first point of contact for clients and guests that access the office through welcoming and triage of appointments and walk-in clientele and answering the phone
  • Promote a professional, welcoming, trauma-informed office environment
  • Responsible for opening and closing the office for business
  • Answer and screen phone calls, respond to questions, and redirect as needed by referring callers to the appropriate internal or external resources
  • Place new orders for Charlie Cards and taxi vouchers to supervisors via the Assistant to the Vice President
  • Assist the Directors in preparations for monitoring visits from funders
  • Assist the Associate Directors of Scattered Site Housing, Congregate Housing, and Residential Services in generating and maintaining the quarterly on-call schedule and distribute a weekly email detailing which staff are on-call for the upcoming week
  • Assist in developing systems and organizational processes to ensure the smooth and consistent day-to-day operations of the program (i.e. supply chain, filing systems, tracking logs, etc.)
  • Receive and secure occupancy fees paid in person and issue payment receipts for housing tenants
  • Assist the Program Representative with scanning checks, uploading leases, and updating checklists of inspections as needed
  • Perform limited data entry and updating in SharePoint property management database as needed


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficiency in office software and equipment including Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook), internet use, telephone systems, and copy/scanner machines
  • Excellent customer service skills; highly developed and effective interpersonal skills
  • High degree of cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with diverse people and situations
  • Experience working in a non-profit and/or human services environment
  • Strong planning and organizational skills; strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communications skills and project management experience
  • Skill in supporting data-driven work environments, with attention to accurate and timely data collection
