A Boston nonprofit organization is seeking a Temporary HR Manager to support and administer critical HR employee relation functions and manage benefits. Apply if you work well independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment!

Responsibilities

  • HR Manager will initiate a recruitment plan and support the hiring of employees
  • Submit online job postings, shortlist candidates, and schedule job interviews
  • Coordinate orientation and training sessions for new employees
  • Generate official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary slips, and warning letters
  • Create onboarding plans and educate newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations
  • Maintain physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits, and attendance records
  • Create employee engagement plans, get necessary budget approval, and initiate activities
  • Evaluate employee performance and appraise their pay scale accordingly
  • Support appropriate disciplinary action against employees who violate rules and regulations and address employee grievances
  • Perform administrative duties, such as maintaining employee database and sorting emails for the HR department
  • Maintain proper records of employee attendance and leaves
  • Provide administrative support to Executive Director and manage Board communication as needed Benefits Management
  • Supervises administration of employee benefits programs including retirement medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, and others
  • Handle benefits inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution
  • Process enrollments quickly and accurately
  • Review monthly payroll deductions
  • Resolve employee issues with benefits administrators and insurance providers

Requirements

  • BA/ BS in Human Services or related field
  • 5 years of experience in general HR or Benefits Administration 
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing at all levels of the organization
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Articulate reasoning behind actions to Director and other management personnel
  • Provide a high level of customer service and drive customer service orientation to staff
