Temporary Job Readiness Trainer

2+ years of teaching experience with adults preferred

A nonprofit is seeking a Temporary Job Readiness Trainer to develop and modify contextualized curriculum and daily lesson plans for academic and/or job skill training programs, deliver training to participants, evaluate progress and skill attainment of individual participants on a scheduled basis, track outcomes, and support trainee success post-training through job coaching.

Responsibilities

  • Job Readiness Trainer will deliver existing job readiness curriculum (in person and virtually depending on cohort need) to Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), Early Childhood Educator (ECE) training cohorts
  • Develop and deliver contextualized curriculum for new pipeline programs (in person and virtually
  • depending on cohort need) as needed
  • Update and modify curriculum based on the needs of participants, certification requirements, and employer and funding partners
  • Be flexible to individual learning styles, and set appropriate limits to ensure all trainees have an equal opportunity to learn
  • Take ownership of the trainer role and model professional behaviors in and outside the classroom
  • Create course calendars and syllabi for scheduled programming
  • Submit a course description at the beginning of each cycle which outlines the topics to be covered in the class
  • Develop daily lesson plans for each component and enter these plans into the SALESFORCE database on a weekly basis
  • Set course and professional behavior expectations, for all classes, at the start of the cohort
  • Track and meet program enrollment, retention, skill attainment, and client satisfaction goals
  • Create a classroom environment where all trainees feel heard, can express ideas, learn and problem solve in creative ways
  • Create emergency lesson plans and submit these plans to their supervisor at the beginning of each active cycle
  • Deliver all subject matter outlined in the curriculum with the goal of ensuring that trainees obtain the predetermined outcomes (skills)

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; BS or BA in Education or related field preferred
  • 3+ years directly related experience; or certificate/associates degree and 2 years of related experience
  • 2+ years of teaching experience with adults preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with a diverse group of clients at all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory
  • Interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Presentation and facilitation skills
