A nonprofit is hiring a Temporary Workforce Development Stabilization Specialist to be responsible for case management support to homeless and formerly homeless adult men and women trainees. Apply to assess trainees, interpret assessment results, orientation, and develop individual plans, follow-up, report writing, and consultant with the Workforce Development and department leadership teams.

Responsibilities

  • Workforce Development will confer with trainees to identify their vocational goals and establish objectives and benchmarks for each trainee
  • Identify each client’s barriers to continued employment and help the client in overcoming those barriers; set up long-term employment goals for clients and monitor clients in pursuit of those goals
  • Assist clients in resolving any mental/physical health issues and workplace conflicts to enhance job retention
  • Provide follow-up to ensure attendance and analyze progress toward goal achievement for trainees
  • Attendance reports, phone calls, and individual meetings are used to monitor progress
  • Maintain close communication with trainees and trainers during job training and transitional employment to resolve problems and obstacles and to ensure program goals are achieved
  • Confer with trainees to discuss their options and goals; assess trainees for soft skills development in support of successful job training program completion and employment success
  • Facilitate various professional and daily skills training classes as required
  • Assist Trainers with Positive Behaviors Intervention and supports to support a culture of social, emotional, and academic success amongst our trainees and supportive team members, including proactive strategies for ensuring a successful transition from training program to employment and/or educational opportunities
  • Assist Trainers with Progressive Disciplinary Process and/or Contracts when PBIS attempts are not successful
  • Utilize Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) Practices
  • Respond to crisis situations utilizing TIC and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Practices
  • Provide support to Training & Development Specialist during Orientation and onboarding all Training Program participants (first 8 weeks), during program transitions, and with identification and cultivation of external employer partnerships

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 5+ years of direct case management experience in workforce development program and knowledge of Boston and metropolitan area homeless resources
  • Knowledge of teaching and/or instruction methods
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of workforce development principles, theories, and practices
  • Excellent computer skills sufficient for data gathering, documentation, and reporting
